A Princess of House Targaryen, Daenerys lives in exile with her advisors and dragons. Dany rallies the Unsullied of Astapor–a slave army, which she then frees– to her cause and continues her struggle take back her rightful throne.

Daenerys has always been a character that I’ve identified with throughout the Game of Thrones show and the series it was based on–The Song of Ice & Fire. She goes through a lot: being sold like a slave into a marriage by her abusive brother, but she finds strength through her new status as Khaleesi. She comes into her own when her husband and child die and she is reborn with baby dragons at her side. Her quest is a noble one, as she seeks to free those who were enslaved and win over their hearts, so that she may take an army back to Westeros to claim her homeland. Her growth is what made me identify with her, but her flaws and poor decisions made her human, and that’s why I love her as a charcter and why I chose to cosplay her. (Also, DRAGONS!)
